Congratulations to Alice Ray! She was the winner of the Thanksgiving Raffle sponsored by PTC. Thanks for your support!
Santa Store will be held December 8-11 in the PTC room located in the Elementary building. We have lots of new items for this year and I am sure the children will be as excited as ever. As always, we are looking for volunteers to work! This year, we are hoping to have some grandmothers that will offer to wrap the purcahses made by our students. The store will be open from 7:45-2:45 daily. If you would be interested in helping or know someone that would, please contact Anita at 662.252.9230. Even just a couple of hours of your time is a great help!
DONUTS WITH SANTA
This year we have deiced to do something new! We have talked to the “Big Man” himself and he has agreed to visit Marshall Academy on December 12th from 9-11:00 am. He said he could never resist a good donut! Santa will be there to hear Christmas wishes and for photos. Cost of breakfast, including photo is $10.00. Photos will be delivered the following week. Please call or email for reservations. Anita Barnett 662.252.4508 or agrealty@bellsouth.net.
The PTC is selling raffle tickets on Thanksgiving dinner for 12. Dinner is being prepared by members of PTC and will be delivered within a 15 mile radius of Holly Springs on November 25, 2009. Tickets may be purchased through school office or PTC member. Chances are only $1.00.
FARMERS MARKET
PTC will be having a Farmer’s Market in the School Cafeteria on November 24, 2009 from 4:00 until 7:00pm. We will be selling an array of goods from casseroles to desserts, breads, jams and jellies. Anyone willing to donate items may contact Traci Cowan at (901)487-4172.
Monies raised will go toward the purchase of new playground equipment, AR program, and items needed for classrooms.
Thank you for your continued support.
PTC has scheduled its Farmer’s Market for in the cafeteria at the school. We need all of our moms (and dads!!) to prepare a dish for the event. We will need anything and everything: Homemade casseroles of all kinds; desserts of all varieties; meats; lasagna; rolls; cornbread, fruit salads, green salads, homemade jam or jellies; soup … whatever you want to provide will be great. Please be sure to prepare it in a non-returnable dish, but put your name and what the actual dish is on it so we’ll be able to identify what we have.
This event has been a huge success in the past and we’re hoping for another! This will be just in time for people to shop for their Thanksgiving dinners, so make your yummiest items.
If you’ll be able to help out, just email me and give me an idea of what you’re item(s) will be … don’t have to stick to it, but we just don’t want to end up with 45 green bean casseroles!!
Thank you for your continued efforts and generosity in helping PTC raise the needed funds to help provide needed resources and “extras” for our students. We’ve already been able to provide a new AR Reading program, a new software program for the school newspaper, needed calculators for the Calculus classes, replace a broken oven in the cafeteria and much, much more (see the PTC blog at www.marshallacadey.com) …. and we’re working on raising funds for new playground equipment this year.
Thanks,
Tish Summerlin

The PTC is raflling a Thanksgiving Dinner for 12. Chances are $1.00 each. Please contact a member today to buy you chances.
Target Visa: With every purchase using this Visa, Target will give cash to Marshall Academy after you designate them as your school. There are 36 Visa holders who have designated Marshall Academy as their school. So far, Target has donated $2242.15 to Marshall Academy. That amount could be greatly increased with little effort. Also, Target offers a reward program giving you 10% off days as well as frequent free shipping when purchasing online. So the next time you’re there, sign up for a red card and help Marshall start earning more money.
Boxtops for Education: There are hundreds of products that participate in this program and all you have to do is clip and send them to school. There are some good websites you can shop from through the Boxtops website. If you shop using the link through boxtops, Marshall earns additional donated monies. And if you shop with a Target Visa while doing this, wow! Every penny adds up. The more we earn from programs like this, the less begging we have to do. Once again, the boxtops website is http://www.boxtops4education.com/.
Project A+ off Tyson Food Product: Very similar to boxtops for education but we earn 24 cents per label. These labels are located on all kinds of Tyson products and I know there are a lot of chicken nuggets being consumed by elementary. To view participating products, go to Tyson.com and click on Tyson Project A+ link. Again, all you have to do is clip and send it to school!
The Marshall Academy PTC is looking for volunteers! The PTC is a non-profit organization which raises funds for school in an effort to keep tuition costs down. Money raised by PTC has been used for building a science lab, ordering resource tools for classrooms, purchasing equipment needed for the cafeteria, endowment for musical productions, art supplies and many other items.
Sincerely,
Anita Barnett
